These websites offer helpful links to information about benefits and assistance resources as well as the opportunity to meet career advisors face to face.

  

http://www.co.rockland.ny.us/guidance/center.htm - Rockland County Guidance Center’s mission “is to provide, to a diverse adult population with a specific focus on women in transition (displaced homemakers), special programs, career resources, and current information regarding workplace systems and procedures.”   

www.labor.state.ny.us/workforcenypartners/osview.asp - County Workforce (One-Stop) Centers – scroll down to “Rockland County” and click on the website for Tomorrows Workplace in Spring Valley. They offer career counseling, resume reviews, training and assessments. You can contact them via email or by phone.

 

www.vesid.nysed.gov/do/locations.htm - Click Rockland County on the map of New York State and find vocational and educational services for individuals with disabilities. There is a satellite office in Spring Valley.

 

https://ui.labor.state.ny.us/UBC/home.do – This NY State Department of Labor website allows you to register for unemployment insurance. Click on “Help” and discover what you should know before you file a claim, answer questions regarding benefits you’ve already applied for, and learn about the hearings and appeals process

 

www.mybenefits.ny.gov/ - This NY State benefits website will tell you what state resources are available to help you make ends met. Click “Am I Eligible” and prescreen for temporary assistance, food stamps, health insurance, tax credits and other programs including home energy assistance and prescription drug insurance coverage for seniors.

 

www.govbenefits.govThis is the official benefits website of the U.S. government, with information on over 1,000 benefit and assistance programs including career development assistance, child care/child support, disability assistance, disaster relief, education/training, grants/scholarships/fellowships, healthcare, insurance, living assistance, social security and volunteer opportunities among others.

 

www.211.org – 2-1-1, sponsored by United Way provides free and confidential information and referral. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more. Just type in your zip code and find contact information for the Hudson Valley branch of 2-1-1.
