I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  I had a great time with parades and barbecues and trips to the lake, but now I am itchy.

The bugs are out and I am full of bites, so I decided to find out why they itch.  I went to the shelf and pulled a book about bug bites called "Bites and Stings" by Silverstein and this is what I learned:

"Most people are allergic to the chemicals in a mosquito's saliva.  When they get a bite, their skin turns red, gets swollen, and feels itchy."

I am off to Chicago and will tell you about my trip when I return.  I am going to visit some historic houses and even take a side trip to Wisconsin.
