MARCH 20th is the first day of Spring and I am already seeing signs of its arrival. Even though most of my yard is still buried under snow (I'm in Orange County), the daffodils are coming up along the house where the snow has melted.
Then, last night a red fox ran across the road as I drove home, so I guess they are done hibernating.
This month you can also pick up books about the different celebrations that take place in Spring including, St. Patrick's Day, Passover, Easter and April Fool's Day. Also, check out a book about Baseball since Spring training is under way.
Did you know that the average American eats 250 eggs each year? -from Spring by Jill Kalz
From Spring by Anna Claybourne- Try an experiment. Have Mom or Dad cut a twig from a tree or plant such as Forsythia and put it in some water in a sunny spot. See if the leaves or flowers come out first on your twig or on the tree outside.
For lots of other Spring ideas come check out a book at the Library.
